Community of Practice
The Analyst Community of Practice (COP) at UC Merced provides a source of networking and professional development for analysts on campus. We define “analyst” broadly as any professional who provides data and information to support campus planning and decision making. Our goals for the Community are that (a) analysts will identify colleagues they can connect with and discuss issues with, (b) analysts will improve their skills and exposure to new tools, and (c) as a community we can work to help improve collaboration and resource sharing across teams/units in providing data on campus. If you share data that helps people on campus make decisions and want to strengthen your network on campus and the tools you can use to answer your stakeholder’s questions – this group is for you and we’d love to have your participation!
How can you participate?
The Analyst COP will consist of both quarterly meetings and a listserv. Quarterly meetings are announced via the listserv. Additionally, the purpose of the listserv is to provide an informal space for questions and concerns within the scope of the COP. Relevant topics may include tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Cognos), methods (e.g., analytic approaches), and communication/delivery processes (e.g., understanding and presenting data/insights, getting buy in, facilitating collaboration, success metrics). To add yourself to our listserv, visit this webpage (http://lists.ucmerced.edu/mailman/listinfo/analyst_community_of_practice), sign up at one of our meetings, or email Cinnamon Danube (email@example.com). For other questions about the Analyst COP, email IRDS Director Gary Lowe (firstname.lastname@example.org).
